Background

Formed in 1993, as a 501-(c)-4 non-profit organization.

Originated in response to an organizational roundtable sponsored by the Colorado Women's Agenda, which identified the need to have a professional lobbyist at the state capitol on behalf of women.


Achievements

Primary sponsor of Colorado Earned Income Tax Credit bill

Assisted low-income seniors to keep homes through property tax-rebate legislation

Helped shape Colorado's current welfare policy

Supported Domestic Violence bill of 1999 and lobbied amendment to allow funds for civil legal services for battered women

Supportive role in passing the Wage Non-Discrimination Act through the Senate

Lobbied for Breast and Cervical Act of 2001


Current Goals

Making the Earned Income Tax Credit permanent

Adopting Pay Equity Legislation (Wage Non-Discrimination Act)

Supporting a Caregiver Tax Credit

Protecting consumers in health insurance and reform legislation

Protecting reproductive choice
